The Billboard Music Awards Winners have been Announced

Drake was named Top Artist, Male Artist, Rap Artist, Rap Male Artist, and Rap Album at the Billboard Music Awards for “Certified Boyfriend Boy.” With 34 awards, the rapper extended his record as the most decorated award show winner in history.

Before the presentation, multiple winners were announced, with Olivia Rodrigo and Ye taking home the most honours with six each. During a televised ceremony hosted by Sean “Diddy” Combs, awards for Top Female Artist, R&B Artist, Rap Female Artist, Country Male Artist, Country Duo/Group, Rock Artist, Dance/Electronic Artist, R&B Album, and Dance/Electronic Artist will be presented.

The night’s overall tone was perplexing, with Diddy frequently deviating from the script and urging the presenters and cast to do the same (we’re sure those producers’ three hours backstage were tense).

The concert also attempted to highlight the atrocities that occurred in Buffalo and Laguna Woods, but the tonal change was steered by the contrast between our gloomy reality and Diddy’s commitment to being a “vibe creator.” Designed to divert attention.

We can’t say we blame you if you missed the BBMAs, but you’re in luck because A.V. Club has compiled a handy list of some of the night’s most memorable events.

Before the 2022 Billboard Music Awards, Billboard held Billboard MusicCon. It included Machine Gun Kelly, Anita, Raw Alejandro, and Burna Boy on panels, with Anita also performing. In the run-up to the 2022 BBMAs, Ty Dolla $ign performed at the inaugural Billboard MusicCon in Las Vegas.

Ed Sheeran (nine times), Raw Alejandro, Silk Sonic, Morgan Wallen (four times each), and Miranda Lambert (three times) are among the cast members nominated this year (twice). Mari Kopeni, a 14-year-old environmental justice activist, will receive the Billboard Music Awards Changemaker Award.

Doja stole the show in a black Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown with a chest-top-down corset and see-through nude tulle, with gold Agent Provocateur pasties ($110) covering her nipples.

Gold ear-shaped earrings, toe-shaped shoes, and a purse in the shape of Saturn, a tribute to her “Planet her” album, were among her other accoutrements.
